Over the last year many of us have spent more time on things that we used to just squeeze into our schedules. We’ve managed to exercise more, cook more, read more and even spend more time on our skincare. More masks days, extra time for facial massage or even a whole new routine. 

If this sounds like you then great; but if you have sensitive skin or you struggle with consistency then I have the perfect routine for you. If you can commit to just two minutes every night, then you can commit to this simple 3 step routine. Today we’re going to breakdown the routine that changed everything.

A Few Things to Note

Okay, before we get into the details of this 3 step routine let’s go over a few caveats. First, this routine is for people who have relatively problem free skin. Meaning we won’t be clearing up chronic acne (though it will deal with the occasional breakout) and we won’t be drastically reversing the signs of aging. 

Second, this routine is not designed for the skincare enthusiasts (per se). The truth of the matter is not everyone needs or wants a five plus step routine. While there is nothing wrong with adding extra serums, treatment or creams to your routine; for someone who is just starting out and for those with sensitive skin;  it’s best to keep it simple. 

The Routine

We developed this routine to solve two problems. First, we created this routine for people with sensitive skin who need to keep things simple. When your skin is sensitive it’s best not to do too much, the more you do the more likely you are to irritate your skin. Second we created for those who need a road map to the basics. Consider this a starting point for your plant based skincare journey.

Step 1 Cleanse:

One reason for your irritated skin may be that it is actually overly dry, usually as a result of the cleanser you are using. The fix, switch to a non-foaming cleanser like the Beetroot Cleansing Polish to exfoliate and cleanse in one easy step. Bonus points for adding moisture and much needed nutrients to the skin. Depending on your skin you can use the polish at least three times a week up to daily. 

Step 2: Balance

Here is where your toner comes in, but for some people a traditional toner does more harm than good. The reason, alcohol. It’s drying and sometimes irritating. The solution, an alcohol free toner or an essence like our Glow Essence. Glow is a hybrid toner and serum that balances and hydrates the skin with soothing Aloe and moisturizing glycerin. 

Step 3: Moisturize 

Most moisturizers are water based because your skin needs water. However, if you apply pure oil to damp skin, your skin is moisturized and you benefit from the nutrients of the pure plant oils. That’s why step 3 in our routine is ACE Nourishing Skin Oil. When applied to damp skin it seals in hydration, moisturizes and nourishes the skin. 

If you’re in a time crunch add 3 steps of Glow and 2 drops of ACE to your hands at the same time, then apply to your skin. It may not seem like you’re saving a ton of time but in life, every second counts.
